All products were printed for companies through my time at Studio on Fire, and cover a variety of different foil, paper, die line, and product.
Dancing Goat Gardens
Rigid tray style packaging for a Montana based cannabis company. This packaging features a rich flood of letterpress ink, a metallic gold foil, and a uniquely detailed heat blind. Designed to hold a small set of prerolls, this custom designed package was created using a variety of printing presses: Heidelberg Cylinder S Series, Saroglia, and Kluge EHD.
Cold Gold Earring Backers
A bold earring backer for a high end jewelry company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and designed by Pretty Useful Co. Printed with metallic blue and pink foils, and a customized oval die cut. These were exclusively printed on Kluge EHD Series, and then duplexed together to create a nice thick and rigid piece that looks and feels high end.
Field Notes Special Edition 3-Pack
A limited edition 3-pack of field notes memo books with custom foil stamped boxes for the amazing Field Notes company. The design was created by Aaron Draplin, and the printing was executed at Studio on Fire. These specific boxes were to be offered to subscription members. Printed on a Saroglia FUB.
“Foiled Again” Behind the Scenes
Amor Indio Tequila Labels
A limited bottle release of tequila for the subscription based company We Drink Tequila. This label featured three different metallic foils, and a letterpressed tissue paper to package it all in. All of the foil on the label was printed on a Kluge EHD Series, while the tissue paper was printed on a Heidelberg Cylinder S Series.
Amor Indio Tequila Labels
Another round of printing for the subscription based company We Drink Tequila. This years was elevated to having more elements than the previous to create an elegant and artisanal design. This label uses two different metallic foils, an emboss, and a heat blind, and was printed on house-made label stock. All parts were printed on the Kluge EHD Series.
LEAL Cannabis Co.
Custom designed rigid tray boxes for Michigan-based, LEAL Cannabis company. This box holds six prerolled joints, and is fully recyclable. Printed and die cut on a Saroglia with metallic copper foil, with inserts printed and die cut on a Kluge EHD Series.
Emerald Sun
A custom designed box to hold a small jar of ice water hashish, on a beautiful teal paper. Beautiful graphics designed by Stephen Rockwood, and printed with a metallic gold, and pigment white foil.
Opus Candle Box
A gorgeous custom candle box for Opus Studio, a candle maker based in Philadelphia. With a metallic gold foil on a bold blue stock, this candle box really makes a statement. Printed and die cut on a Kluge EHD.
Manhattan Coffee Roasters
A heat blind and foil stamped sleeve to wrap coffee bags, for Manhattan Coffee Roasters based in the Netherlands. This paper was stamped to give it a look of leather, and stamped with a metallic gold foil to create a high end belly band for their coffee beans. Printed and die cut on a Saroglia FUB press.
Quinta Esencia Oils
Custom designed boxes for Quinta Esencia, a woman-owned wellness company that creates botanically-based skincare products. These boxes are flood printed with offset, then use a deboss to create depth, and a tonal letterpress for a high end look and feel. Printed on a Heidelberg Cylinder S Series press, and debossed on a Saroglia FUB.
Sige Vinyl Sleeves
A matte silver foil stamped vinyl sleeve for Old Man Gloom, and Sige Records. This sleeve was printed and die cut on Saroglia FUBs, and then hand taped together to perfectly fit two records.
Pub Pass Booklets
The 2024 annual release PubPass is a passport style booklet that holds coupons for various pubs and breweries in different cities. The cover of the booklet has a flood of matte gold foil, a layer of detailed metallic foil, and a custom ticket-style die cut. All passes were printed using a Kluge EHD Series press.
Surly’s 16th Annual Release
Surly Brewing has been releasing barrel-aged beers every year since 2006. These specific annual releases come in a sixteen ounce can, and an intricately designed box printed with a gold foil and embossed to give it depth. This box was printed and die cut solely on Saroglia FUB Series printing presses.
Surly’s 17th Annual Release
Surly’s seventeenth annual release of a specialty brewed beer, this years being a boulevardier style brew. Designed with bar flies all over the box and printed on a bright red stock with a matte gold foil, and some blind embossing techniques. Parts of this packaging were printed and die cut on a Kluge EHD, and a Saroglia FUB.
Surly 2022 & 2023 Darkness Boxes
Custom designed boxes for Surly Brewing’s annual darkness day releases. Every year Surly does a limited batch of Russian Imperial Stouts and has batches packaged into cans, and others into limited edition glass bottles. These boxes are typically printed on a black stock with a matte gold foil to show off the intricate and dark designs. Boxes printed and die cut on Saroglia FUB Series printing presses.
Surly 2023 Darkness Box
Surly Brewing took a design turn starting in 2023, when they created a new box design for their annual Darkness release. For this box they went with a matte silver foil, a metallic red foil, and a sculpted emboss to add depth to the intricate monster design. All pieces with printed on Saroglia FUB Series, or KAMA press.
Tarot Cards Box
A box for a deck of tarot cards designed by Robert Ryan for Raking Lights Projects. This box was printed on a silver Stardream stock with a metallic red foil, keeping it simple and letting the art speak for itself. This packaging was printed and die cut exclusively on a Kluge EHD Series.
Manna Supplement Box
Manna is an Australian-based company that produces natural supplements. This custom designed packaging features a bottom piece, and top piece that fit together to hold thirty daily supplemental packages. The bottom is tonally letterpressed on Kraft stock to give a wood grain appearance, and the top has a flood of letterpress and a shiny metallic gold foil on cream colored stock. Letterpressed pieces were done on a Heidelberg Cylinder S Series and foil stamping was done on a Saroglia FUB Series.
